The fear of sin often stems from the fact that the so called divine laws are languaged, and thus, in constant need of interpretation.  Perhaps the entire hermeneutic tradition is fueled from the lack of a concrete and objective proof that the gods actually have a plan for human beings, or that the gods work the world from moral and just motives.
